Welcome
Barista is coined from the original Italian term “Bariste” – which refers to a bartender who prepares all drinks including coffee / espresso-based drinks. To be named a true Barista, one should have extensive knowledge and experience regarding all aspects of great coffee preparation. From knowledge of green coffee bean origins, coffee roasting, cupping, blending, grinding, espresso drinks preparation, milk steaming techniques, technical knowledge of espresso machines & maintenance. As well as having vast experience behind an espresso machine – including being able to operate any number of different espresso machine varieties - the Barista should also be well-versed in other methods of coffee preparation such as stovetop espresso, plunger and filter.

"It is inhumane, in my opinion, to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some kind of recreational activity. I bet this kind of thing does not happen to heroin addicts. I bet that when serious heroin addicts go to purchase their heroin, they do not tolerate waiting in line while some dilettante in front of them orders a hazelnut smack-a-cino with cinnamon sprinkles."
